YARN

Yarn comes into Pennine Weavers from all over the world. Our customers are safe in the knowledge that their yarn is stored in a safe and secure environment, with as much care and attention as if it was our own. We can store up to 140 tonnes of yarn. All items, regardless of the size, are barcoded into our warehouse and all yarn movements logged and accounted for.

The saying "a good warp is the key to successful weaving" is one that we take to heart. Our most recent investments have been in single end warping. In January 2014 we took delivery of our first Karl Mayer GOM24 single end warping machine, we liked the machine so much that in February 2015 the second machine arrived, our minimum warp lengths are now 7mt. For larger warps our Benninger Benmatic section warping machines with individual end tensioning and robotic leasing allow us to make warps up to 3000mt in length. So any warp, any size.

DRAWING IN

Working closely with machinery manufacturers is key to ensuring we stay ahead of the field in weaving and preparation. The Staubli Safir Drawing In machine is a truly unique and state of the art machine with colour recognition and the ability to differentiate S and Z twist yarns at a speed of 160emds/minute it is truly world class.
